BYD accelerates its expansion into overseas markets, and its factory in Uzbekistan starts production

On January 25, 2024, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led a delegation to visit BYD’s global headquarters during his visit to China. They were cordially received by BYD President and Chairman Wang Chuanfu. During the visit, both parties jointly attended and witnessed the production launch ceremony of BYD's Uzbekistan plant.

At the ceremony, BYD's Shenzhen headquarters remotely connected to BYD's Uzbekistan factory. Mr. Wang Chuanfu and President Mirziyoyev jointly pressed the start button, marking the official start of new energy vehicle production at BYD's Uzbekistan factory, which reflected both parties' commitment to realizing green travel and a shared vision of reducing carbon emissions.

BYD's Uzbekistan factory is a joint venture between BYD and Uzbekistan's local automobile manufacturer UzAuto (Uzavtosanoat JSC). It is located in Jizzakh Oblast and produces two best-selling models, the Destroyer and Song.

During his visit, President Mirziyoyev visited the BYD Technology Museum and expressed his affirmation of BYD's achievements in the field of new energy vehicles. In addition, Mr. Wang Chuanfu delivered BYD Uzbekistan's 10,000th new energy vehicle to President Mirziyoyev - Yangwang U8, which won the president's favor with its ultimate driving experience.

Since BYD's new energy vehicles were launched in Uzbekistan in March 2023, BYD has successfully opened 10 official sales and service centers in Uzbekistan. With its excellent product quality and professional localized services, BYD has quickly won the favor and praise of local consumers and has become the best-selling new energy vehicle brand in the area.


In 2023, BYD's annual sales of new energy vehicles will exceed 3 million units, becoming the world's new energy vehicle sales champion. Its new energy vehicle footprint has spread to more than 70 countries and regions and more than 400 cities around the world. As BYD's Uzbekistan factory starts production this month, BYD will further provide local consumers with green and high-quality new energy vehicle products.
